B&B 'De Klaproos'
Feel at Home When You're Away
After 23 years B&B 'De Klaproos' closes.
It all started with the idea of my mother. Situated next to the impressive Tyne Cot Cemetery and having a large empty attic, the B&B was born. My father was a carpenter so he helped my mother to make their dream come true. All these years the B&B stayed small and cosy. A personal contact was what we wanted and the comfort and wonderful view on the apartment made the place very special. Many guests came back, year after year and became friends. From U.K. to New-Zealand from Sweden to South-Africa, they still talk about the phenomenal breakfast.
We keep those memories with us and friends are still welcome to visit of course. In 2007 I took over the B&B since my mother was retired. I could combine the bookings with my job at Tyne Cot Cemetery Visitors Centre. With corona the job got lost and I started working with people with a mental disability. A job I love to.
Workingtimes are very irregular and I cherish my days off now. I thought to start again with the B&B when the catering industry would start up again. Now I notice it is time for a new start. A start where I can enjoy more my own creativity again and spend more time with friends. I hope to meet people all over the world.
I would like to thank all our guests with all my heart and also my lovely mother for giving me this experiance.
Love Rosa and Marijke
